Little Shop of Horrors: The Musical!

Great songs, fun characters, a man-eating plant: what more can one ask for from a Drama Club!
This spring, to the delight of the entire York Prep community, at the Off-Broadway Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater, the York Prep Players brought to life one of the most revered and successful Broadway shows ever produced: Little Shop of Horrors! (And they did it with many first-time stage performers in the lead!) Led by Kaiser Ghausi and Jayden Sample as Seymour and Audrey; Anne-Marie Countinho Philippe and Spencer Olshaker sharing the role of Mushnick; Owen Barbagallo as the evil Dentist; Asa Douglas as the voice of the plant; Daron Sklar as the plant puppeteer; Gabriel Bolt, Sophia Martinez, Jada McIntosh, Melanie Perez, Dylan Taylor, Aspen Wilson and Remi Young as the irrepressible Ronnettes; Trina Dempsey as Bernstein the agent; Iris Reyl and Chelsea Branch sharing the role of Mrs. Luce, the flamboyant owner of Life Magazine; Oliver Anderson as Skip Snip; and Gordon Petrik and Maya Slotnick sharing the role of Patrick Martin, the fun was just beginning!
For the role of the wino was played by beloved teacher Eric Tull! And the role of the customer was shared by senior Rome Kadi, teacher Lane Choplin and none other than our founding headmaster Ronnie Stewart!
Our musicians were Maeve O’Brien-McKevitt on Cello; Paul Petretta on electric bass; Matt Varela on electric guitar; Jack Zaretsky on drums; music teacher Coty Cockrell on flute; and music director, Thomas Hodges on Piano.
Our crew consisted of Gavin Adler, Margot Bell-Mendoza, Tatiana Bresler (lighting board operator), Cassius Goldsmith, Quinn Johnson, Erika Lampe, Aidan Lawrence, Andrew LaVallee, Tristan Leonard (sound design and sound board operator as well as the voice of the interviewer), Brette Moore (assistant stage manager), Chloe Murray (additional sound board operator), Kimberly Pineda, Stephanie Seidman (assistant director) and Lucy Zener (stage manager).
The performing arts team was comprised of John Viscardi and Fiona Hutchison (co-directors); Lane Martin III (choreography); Coty Cockrell (band leader); and Thomas Hodges (music director).
